Many children starting secondary school are “physically illiterate” and unable to “perform basic fundamental movements” needed to play sport according to Baroness Sue Campbell. The chairwoman of UK Sport and the Youth Sport Trust says that some pupils leaving primary school can “hardly move and cannot “catch, throw jump or run” by the time they are aged eleven.
