Sport England has launched a new survey to explore how children and young people engage with sport and physical activity.
The Active Lives: Children and Young People survey will give anyone working with children aged 5-16 key insight to help understand children’s attitudes and behaviours around sport and physical activity.
The survey will run on an annual basis, each term a number of schools will be randomly selected to take part in the survey, with the aim of getting 100,000 children and young people in Years 1 to 11 to complete it each academic year. The survey will provide estimates of activity levels on a national level to inform government policy, eg, Primary PE and Sports premium and the Childhood Obesity Plan and at a Local Authority level to inform local decision making.
