SITA Trust has announced the next set of closing dates for applications from England for 2016.

The Trust currently offers two funds (the Primary Fund and the Smaller Projects Fund):

  • The Primary Fund provides grants of up to £50,000 to not-for-profit organisations whose significant community leisure amenity improvement project has an overall cost of no more than £250,000. Projects must start within six months and complete within 12 months of funds being awarded.
  • The Smaller Projects Fund offers grants of up to £20,000 towards smaller projects with an overall cost of less than £40,000. This fund will support applicants requesting capital funding for smaller projects that take a matter of weeks or months to complete. No compliant project is considered too small and there is no minimum funding amount.

Non-profit making organisations such as voluntary organisations, charities, parish councils, local authorities, and community groups can apply.

Projects can be supported in any of 100 funding zones around qualifying sites owned by SITA UK. The Trust provides a postcode checker so that groups can check the eligibility of the project’s location.

To be eligible, projects must:

  • Be located within a three miles radius of a qualifying SITA UK waste processing location.
  • Have unrestricted public access for a minimum of 104 days per year; that is no less than four evenings, two days each week, or 12 full weeks each year.

The next deadlines for application are 25 April 2016 (5pm) and 25 July 2016 (5pm).
