There has been a lot of debate recently about the potential damage to some sports caused by reductions in UK Sport and Sport England funding.

For those sports for whom this funding represents a large proportion of their revenue, decisions like this aren’t quite make or break but they can come close. This means that they are vulnerable to decisions made outside of their organisation.

Nevertheless, government funding, from UK Sport and Sport England, remains an important part of the mix for many national governing bodies.
