Grants Online has launched a brand new fundraising website (Fundraise.it) aimed at schools. “Fundraise.it” can be used by schools to promote their fundraising projects. Schools simply register on the site and post their fundraising project online. Potential sponsors will also be able to use the site to donate to their chosen project.
Using the concept of Crowdfunding, schools can use their own online networks, as well as the online networks (Twitter, Facebook, etc) of their students, parents and staff to promote their project to potential donors and to gather donations.
The advantage of Fundraising.it is that it can be used to compliment traditional fundraising activities by making effective use of social media to promote their fundraising project to a wider audience.
