A dispute between the health secretary, Jeremy Hunt, and the education secretary, Michael Gove, continues to delay the announcement of a new £100 million government school sport policy. The new strategy had been scheduled to be announced before Christmas to coincide with announcements on investing £492 million in grassroots sport and £347 million in elite Olympic sports ahead of the Rio Games in 2016.
