Tackling Inequality in Sport

Here is an interesting article in the Independent concerning the government led “Football v Homophobia” campaign that was launched at the weekend.

Very few clubs have joined with only 16 teams signed up so far are: Arsenal, Aston Villa, Fulham, Liverpool, Newcastle Utd, Norwich City, Brighton & Hove Albion, Derby County, Ipswich Town, Millwall, Huddersfield Town, MK Dons, Wycombe Wanderers, Exeter City, Port Vale and Hyde FC.

On a more positive note the Rugby League has launched a new game wide ‘Tackle IT’ Equality and Diversity programme which aims to increase awareness of issues such as racism, homophobia and other forms of discrimination and prejudice within the game.
