A Doorstep Approach is an article that looks at how Local Authorities can utilise doorstep sport projects to improve youth activity levels, but also to tackle issues such as obesity, anti-social behaviour and social exclusion.
As well as giving examples of Local Authorities that have already benefited from such projects, the article also highlights how local government officials can implement strategies to integrate doorstep sport into their agenda and make sport more accessible to young people living in disadvantaged communities. Another paper which emphasises the potential for doorstep sport by examining the use of sport and activities to prevent anti-social behaviour is the ‘Tired of Hanging Around’ report issued by the CSN Audit Commission. This can be viewed here Tired of Hanging Around.
